Book Printing help

Writing your book

When setting out in writing your book, it is a good idea to think about what the finished book trim size is you desire. Then before writing set up the file to said desired trim size. This will save a lot of time and money ahead. We can advise on sizes by calling 01525 621754.

Deciding between Softback or Hardback

Softbacks generally offer a cheaper unit cost, are lighter in weight, and easier to transport. Although, hardback books are more durable and are often printed with higher quality materials, appealing to those seeking a more premium product. We produce thousands of publications a week.

Choosing the right cover Lamination

Gloss lamination gives your cover a nice shiny look and feel. Matt lamination likewise gives a nice look and feel but does have a habit of marking quite easily. Making it not suitable for slipping in and out of a bag or case. The alternative to Matt is a soft touch Matt lamination which is far more durable and also has a luxury velvet feel to the touch.

With our craftsman bindery, the finishing options when it comes to binding are quite vast. We have standard softback (paperback) book binding, in addition to this offer a thread sewn option. Regards Hardback (case bound) we offer Printed paper case (PPC). In addition we offer Cloth (wibalin) and Faux leather. On hardbacks you can have, Gold or Silver Foil blocking, Printed endpapers, Coloured endpapers, Head and Tail bands, Marker ribbons, and all with the option of thread sewing. Childrens Book Printing we usually suggest sewn binding. Softback Book Printing can be glued or sewn and glued.
